Nasim tells people not to be panicked over swine flu

Advising people not to be panicked with the spread of swine flu in India, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim assured on Thursday of country's adequate preparations to control the disease.
The minister asked all concerned to take up mass awareness programmes including advance cautionary steps so that the disease cannot infect people.     
The minister's instructions came at an emergency meeting at the conference room of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city on the prevention measures of swine flu.
State Minister for Health Zahid Malek, secretary Syed Majurul Islam, civil aviation authority chairman and director general of directorate general of health services (DGHS) Dr Deen Md Nurul Haque were present, among others, in the meeting.
It was informed in the meeting that district level medical service teams have been formed by this time to prevent spread of swine flu. The teams specially in the border districts have been kept on full alert.
Instructing to keep necessary medicines in stock, the health minister said separate units have to be opened in the 64 district hospitals including national institute of chest diseases and hospital and infectious diseases hospital.
Mr Nasim emphasised the need for developing skilled and trained doctors and nurses for a disease like swine flu. msshova@gmail.com
