Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal left Dhaka for the USA at the invitation of his US counterpart Admiral Michael M Gilday to take part in the 24th International Seapower Symposium on Tuesday, says a press release.
The Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Operations) and the Naval Administrative Authority Dhaka officially saw off the Navy Chief at Hazrat Shahjalal Inter-national Airport.
During his visit, the Chief of Naval Staff will take part in a series of discussions on the growing dependence on marine resources, security in maritime area and maritime stability, and the impact of climate change on international security.
The Navy Chief will pay a courtesy call on Chief of US Naval Staff Admiral Michael M Gilday and Chief of UK Naval Staff and First Sea Lord Admiral Tony Radakin and Chief of Naval Staff of Indonesia and South Korea.
