Navy\\\'s Operation Jatka ends

Bangladesh Navy’s Operation Jatka programme ended on Sunday, saia an ISPR press release.  

They seized illegal current nets worth about Tk 15.3 million during the last 8 days.

The operation started on March 15.

During the drives, the Navy members seized 14.5 million metres of current nets worth about Tk 403 million.

The operation was conducted in various areas, including the costal belt and rivers of the southern region and its adjacent hilsa breeding and spawning zones, to protect hilsa.
