NBR chief urges revenue officials to work sincerely

CHITTAGONG, Oct 26: National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Mohammad Abdul Majid called upon the officials concerned to discharge the assigned duties with utmost sincerity in realisation of government revenue.
He also called for time-befitting steps to be taken by the officials in eliminating the weaknesses of the organisations assigned with the task of realising revenue under different heads.
The newly-appointed NBR chairman was exchanging views with officials of Customs, Income Tax and the Directorate of Savings of Chittagong region here Wednesday.
The NBR chairman reminded that some importers and tax payers try to evade taxes tactfully.
The NBR chief directed the concerned officials to take effective measures against the tendency of tax evasion, shortfall in realisation of revenue, system loss or weakness.
Availing the facilities offered by the government , he called upon all to work unitedly to achieve the desired target of realisation of revenue and strictly abide by the rules and regulations in force.
