New executives of Hathazari Samity

Mohammad Shafiul Azam and Engineer Mohammad Zahed Murad have been unanimously elected president and general secretary respectively of the Hathazari Samity, Dhaka, reports UNB.  

The 31-member executive committee of the Hathazari Samity was elected for the next two-year term in a biennial general meeting of the samity at a city hotel recently.  

Chief Adviser and Chief Election Commissioner of the samity major general (retd) Syed Muhammad Ibrahim announced the names of new office bearers and members.

Former chief secretary M Abdul Karim, former army chief Lt Gen (retd) M Harun-Ur Rashid, former general secretary of Chittagong Samity-Dhaka Mahiul Islam Mahim, general secretary of Chittagong Samity-Dhaka M Giasuddin Khan, Additional MD of National Bank Limited Badiul Alam and DMD of Al Arafa Islami Bank Kazi Tawhidul Alam were also present at the meeting, followed by an Iftar party
