New Indian visa centre opens in city Jan 1

The Indian High Commission in Dhaka announced on Monday the opening of a new Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) facility point in Dhaka with effect from January 1, 2015, report agencies.

The new IVAC will be opened in the city's Dhanmondi area (Road-2, House no-24) to receive applications and give visas.

State Bank of India (SBI), the authorised agent of the High Commission of India for accepting Indian visa applications through the IVA,C will receive and delivery of visa applications from the new IVAC location in Dhanmondi, according to Indian visa advisory note.

The applications for visas will be received by the centre from 8am to 1pm from Sunday to Thursday and the delivery of visa would be made from 3 pm to 6pm on the same day.

The Indian visa processing fees would be revised from January 1.

The new visa processing fees would be Taka 600 in all centres in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi and Taka 700 for Sylhet and Khulna centres.

All IVACs receive all categories of visa applications. The following IVAC facilities are now available in Gulshan, Motijheel, Dhanmondi (New), Chittagong, Sylhet, Khulna and Rajshahi.
