New intercity train begins journey

RAJSHAHI, Nov 25: The intercity train 'Dhumketu' began its journey at 11.15 pm Monday. The train left with 216 passengers from Rajshahi. Rajshahi City mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton inaugurated the new intercity night train formally.
Authorities of West Zone Railway (Rajshahi) organised an inauguration programme. Chief guest of the programme Liton took the seat of the driver and whistled for the passengers to be prepared for the journey.
Mayor also welcomed the passengers with sticks of Rajanigandha. Afterwards, he went to the Guard's room and showed the signal light for the train to depart for Dhaka.
