New Press Council chair joins office

The newly appointed chairman of the Bangladesh Press Council (BPC), Justice Mohammad Mamtaj Uddin Ahmed, joined his post Wednesday, reports BSS.
Earlier, the government appointed the retired Supreme Court Justice as Press
Council chairman for the next three-year term.
Mamtaj was born in Comilla on December 31, 1944 and joined his profession in 1973.
Justice Mamtaj was also elected treasurer of Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association during 1993-1994, a handout said.
