Newly appointed UNDP Resident Representative in Dhaka Robert Watkins will arrive in Dhaka this month, said an official release Saturday, reports UNB.
Watkins, who is coming in place of former UN Resident Coordinator Neal Walker, met Bangladesh Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Dr AK Abdul Momen at his office in New York Friday, said a media release of Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the United Nations.
Dr Momen described Bangladesh's various areas where UNDP works and recalled the role of UNDP in Bangladesh's development.
He expressed the hope that UNDP would play more effective role in Bangladesh's socioeconomic development during Watkins's tenure.
Bangladesh Mission (Economic) Barun Dev Mitra and UNDP officials were also present at the meeting.
