Unidentified man crushed
under train in city
An unidentified man was crushed under the wheels of a train in Battala Kasaibari level crossing in the Airport area of the capital on Friday night. Sanu Mong Marma, assistant sub-inspector of Dhaka Airport Railway police camp, said the man, 50, wearing blue T-shirt, died on the spot when he was hit by the Dhaka-bound Jayantika Express while crossing the railway tracks. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital morgue. — UNB
Car owner sued over security guard's death in city's Rajabazar
A case has been filed over the death of a security guard after being struck by a car in city's East Rajabazar area on Thursday. The case was filed against the owner of the car, Engineer Mofidul, a former BIWTA official, following a complaint lodged by the victim's wife under the Road Transport Act. Sub-Inspector Ataur Rahman, duty officer of Sherebangla Nagar Police Station, confirmed the matter on Friday afternoon. Police have yet to arrest the accused. — UNB
