Newsman awarded to five years imprisonment

BRAHMANBARIA, July 14 (UNB): A newsman was sentenced to five years imprisonment by a Speedy Trial Tribunal here Thursday for taking bribe.
Judge Mahmudul Alam also fined newsman Abdullah Al Hridoy Tk 5,000, in default, to suffer six months RI more.
Assistant Director of Anti-Corruption Commission Shahin Ara Momtaz arrested Hridoy, a journalist of the local newspaper the Daily Bhorer Chetona, when he was taking Tk 5,000 as bribe from a fish trader at a tea stall at the gate of Sadar Hospital on May 16 this year.
