DINAJPUR, Nov 3 (UNB): A local journalist was killed allegedly by his stepbrother at Bairabari village under Birganj Upazila Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Ashraf Ali, former vice president of Birganj press club and journalist of local Daily Janamat.
Police said Ashraf died on the spot when his stepbrother Mizanur hit him with a spade following a quarrel over land dispute.
On information police recovered the body and sent it to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. They also arrested Farida, wife of Mizanur, in this connection but Mizanur went into hiding.
A case was filed in this connection.
