A delegation of non-government organisation (NGO) leaders called on Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed at his office in the city Saturday to discuss some problems with a new law in the making for streamlining micro-credit operations in the country, reports UNB.
The Chief Adviser gave them a patient hearing and assured that any problem related to the rules and regulations set out in the Micro-credit Regulatory Authority (MRA) Regulation-2008 could be resolved through the process of consultation before finalisation of the MRA Regulation.
BRAC Chairman Fazle Hasan Abed, ASA President Shafiqul Huq Chowdhury, NGO Federation Chairman M Ibrahim, CDF Chairman Atiur Rahman, ENAFI Chairman Zakir Hossain, BRAC Director (finance) SM Koiri and NGO Federation Director M Tazul Islam were on the delegation.
Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Syed Fahim Munaim, who was present at the meeting, briefed newsmen about the meeting.
