NID service suspended for electoral roll preparations

The Election Commission (EC) has suspended the national identity card (NID) services (correction and migration of voters) for the sake of preparation and printing the electoral rolls ahead of the next national election likely to be held in early February 2026, reports UNB.
"The NID services remain suspended from 04:00 pm on Monday until further order," Director (Operations) of the National Identity Registration Wing Md Saiful Islam told the media.
