No clandestine contents in National Broadcasting Policy: PIB DG

KHULNA, Aug 19 Director General (DG) of Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) Md Shah Alamgir in the city told Tuesday the journalists that the national broadcasting policy has no clandestine contents and it has been finalised after discussion with all stakeholders and the draft was made available on the website.

The policy is in line with the provisions of the constitution guaranteeing the freedom of speech and everyone concerned was consulted, he said.

He was addressing as the chief guest the closing ceremony of the two- day training workshop on reducing disaster risk and climate change adaptation held at the VIP Lounge of Khulna Press Club.

It was organised by the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB), with the assistance of Comprehensive Disester Management Programme (CDMP). Khulna deputy commissioner Anis Mahmud addressed the workshop as the special guest.

Chaired by Khulna Press Club President Faruk Ahmed, the workshop was addressed among others, by the director of PIB Anwara Begum, advocacy and communication officer of CDMP AKM Tariful Islam Khan, senior news editor of Bangla Vision Ruhul Ameen Rushd and general secretary of Khulna Press Club SM Zahid Hossain.

A total of 35 local media personnel from print and electronic media attended the training workshop.
