Health Minister Mohammad Nasim said Thursday those who failed in admission tests would not able to get enrolled in medical colleges, reports BSS.
"How can I give them the chance to get admitted when they could not pass in admission tests? How can those who failed in exams would become doctors?" he said speaking as the chief guest at a scientific conference in the city.
Mirpur Kidney Foundation Hospital and Research Centre organized the conference marking its 10th founding anniversary.
Presided over by Kidney Foundation Chairman Prof Dr. Harun-ur-Rashid, the function was also addressed by National Professor MR Khan, Health Department Director General Prof Dr. Deen Mohammad Nurul Haq and Kidney Foundation Secretary General Prof. Dr. M Habibur Rahman, among others.
The health minister called for more private initiatives for development of health services in the country.
The government would extend cooperation, if more hospitals are opened in the private sector, he added.
Mohammad Nasim asked the private medical colleges to control their qualities and not to enroll students who failed in admission tests.
He said a draft law on kidney transplantation is going to be finalised soon and is expected to be passed in the next session of the parliament.
