Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu Monday told the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) that there would be no crisis of fertilizers in the current season as the government has adequate stock of the agriculture input, reports BSS.
Replying to a question from treasury bench member M Abdul Latif, the minister said Ashuganj Fertiliser Factory remained closed from July 1, 2013 to January 3, 2014 due to technical glitch in the factory and non-availability of gas supply from Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Ltd. But no crisis of fertilisers will be created in the current season though production suffered slightly, he added.
Amu said the ministry has a stock of necessary equipments, including compressors, pumps and boilers, to keep the Ashuganj Fertiliser Factory fit for production. Trained people are monitoring the factory round the clock, he added.
