Hot and humid weather prevailed in the city amid low rainfall and winds on Saturday.
The city witnessed a rainfall of only 1.0mm between 6:00am and 6:00pm on the day while humidity was 77 per cent in the morning and 54 per cent in the evening, according to Met Office.
The maximum temperature recorded in the city was 32.8 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 27 degrees.
The wind speed was below 10 kph, which hardly could bring coolness to the city.
The country's highest temperature was recorded at 35.6 degrees in Jashore and the lowest of 23.1 degrees in Dighinala.
The highest rainfall of 35 mm was recorded in Sylhet.
The Met Office forecast that light to moderate rain is likely to occur in many places over Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions today (Sunday).
Rain might also occur at a few places over six other divisions. Both day and night temperatures might rise further in the city on Sunday, it added.
The sun sets at 6:18pm today (Sunday) and will rise at 5:40am tomorrow (Monday).
