No transaction of money with brokers

The Italian embassy has requested the overseas job seekers not to transact money with brokers as there is no migration cost for Italy-bound workers.
Italian envoy in Dhaka Antonio Alessandro said except a few official expenses including taxes and processing fees, the workers need not pay anything to go to Italy with jobs.
On the other hand, they are working to solve the delay in the visa process. Since many applications come together and there are the issues of false documents, verifying them is time-consuming, he mentioned. "But workers have nothing to fear about because there is no issue of expiry of work permit."
The ambassador on Tuesday briefed the journalists following a call on with State Minister for Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Shofiqur Rahman Choudhury at the Probashi Kallyan Bhaban in the capital.
However, Bangladeshi workers spend Tk 1.5 million to Tk 1.8 million to go to the European country because of middlemen's interference. Italy started hiring seasonal and non-seasonal workers from different countries including Bangladesh in January 2022.
About 25,000 Bangladeshis have gone to the since 2022, data available with the Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training shows.
