While the Ebtedayee Madrasa teachers continued their sit-in for the seventh consecutive day, non-MPO teachers conveyed their gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday for her intervention to include them into the Monthly-Payment Order (MPO) system, reports UNB.

The teachers, after ending their five-day hunger strike following PM's assurance, exclaimed their gratitude and thankfulness to the premier at a press briefing organised by Non-MPO Educational Institution Teachers-Staff Federation at the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) in the city.

"I, on behalf of the federation, express our gratitude and thankfulness to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for accepting our just demand through this programme," said Golam Mahmudunnabi Dollar, president of the organisation.

Mentioning the PM's assurance as a victory for them, Dr Binoy Bhushan Ray, general secretary of the federation, said it's a result of their continuous movement since 2006 both in national and district levels.
