NILPHAMARI, Feb 14 (BSS): The authorities here declared today two unions under Nilphamari Sadar Upazila free of early marriage, dowry and narcotics.
The unions are Laxmichapa and Palashbari.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor formally made the announcement at a function at Laxmichapa Union Council Complex.
Organised by the Sadar upazila administration, the function was presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) M Sabet Ali.
Nilphamari Deputy Commissioner M Zakir Hossain, District Council Administrator Advocate Mamtazul Haq and Civil Surgeon Mostafizur Rahman, addressed the function, among others.
