NSU celebrates BD-Russia cultural ties

North South University (NSU), in collaboration with the Russian House, Dhaka, hosted a musical evening on its campus on recently, celebrating the "Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia." The event drew more than 800 students and faculty members, highlighting cultural and academic cooperation between Bangladesh and Russia, said a press release.

NSU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, who attended as the chief guest, recalled Russia's support during Bangladesh's Liberation War and underscored the enduring friendship between the two nations. He also noted the strong potential for expanded collaboration in higher education and research.

NSU Pro-VC Professor Nasar U. Ahmed also spoke on the need for cooperation between the two countries.

Alexandra Khlevnoy, Director of the Russian House, highlighted higher education opportunities in Russia, including the Russian scholarship, and encouraged Bangladeshi students to explore academic pathways there.

The programme featured video presentations on BD-Russia relations and educational opportunities, followed by a musical performance.
