NSU holds student project proposal competition on GCI

The North South University (NSU), in association with the NSU Earth Club, hosted the final round of the Green Campus Initiative (GCI) 2025, a student project proposal competition, on Sunday.
The competition encouraged student-led sustainability and campus-wide recycling proposals. Approximately 64 teams proposed their ideas for the GCI, with a total of 14 student teams selected for the final round.
The H2Ologist, from NSU's Dept of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DCEE) won the first prize. The second position was secured by Team Inertia, from Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). The third position was secured by Eco Point, from DCEE. The winning teams will have the opportunity to work on the NSU's new campus with a budget of BDT 5.0 million.
Professor Abdur Rob Khan, NSU Treasurer and Pro Vice Chancellor (IC), attended the programme as the chief guest. The competition was judged by an esteemed panel of experts, including Dr. Dipak Kumar Mitra, Prof and Dean - School of Health & Life Sciences, and Dr. Shazzad Hosain, Prof and Dean - School of Engineering & Physical Sciences.
The GCI successfully inspired the university community to pursue sustainable solutions.
