NSU, ILO host consultation programme on occupational safety

The EHS+ Centre of North South University, in collaboration with the International Labour Organization, recently organised a consultation programme on the university campus under its ongoing project titled "Comprehensive Certificate Course on Occupational Safety and Health for Undergraduate Students, Graduate Engineers, Architects, and Other Professionals/Practitioners," says a statement.

Additional Inspector General of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) Arif Ahmed Khan and NSU Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Nasar U. Ahmed attended the event.

The programme brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives from international development partners such as the Netherlands, Sweden, Canada, the European Union, and the United Kingdom.

Representatives from leading organisations and institutions, including Epyllion Group, Bangladesh Employers Federation (BEF), Bangladesh Trade Union Sangho, the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Monaco Limited, Socialist Labour Front, BKMEA, and academic institutions such as BRAC University, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, and Military Institute of Science and Technology also participated in the programme.

The event was further enriched by the presence of industry experts, senior government officials, and professionals from relevant sectors.
