NUS organises workshop with media people

Nari Unnayan Shakti (NUS), a national organisation for women and children development, organised a workshop with media people at Dhaka Reporters Unity Saturday.
Objective of the workshop was sharing experience with the media people on combating sexual abuse and domestic violence under the project 'Development of Right-based Community Network for Reducing Gender-based Violence among the Slum Adolescent and Children.' The programme was supported by UNICEF.
About 30 journalists of different dailies in the country took part in the workshop.
Coordinator of Nari Unnayan Shakti Shaheda Wahab briefed the journalists about the NUS activities in the community.
Executive Director of Bangladesh Human Rights Journalists' Forum Khairuzzaman Kamal and Senior Journalist Mainuddin Ahmed were present as the honourable guests at the workshop.
They expressed their interest for meaningful development in the sector of women and children and for preventing gender-based violence in urban and rural communities.
Sultan Muhammad Razzak coordinated the programme, said a press release.
