One held with 1kg gold at HSIA

The Customs intelligence arrested one person with one kilogram of gold from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the city Tuesday, reports BSS.

"We detained one Zakir Hossain of Shahrasti of Chandpur district and seized one-kg of gold hidden inside a charger-light while he was passing through the green channel of the airport at around 12:30 pm," said an official of airport customs intelligence.

The market value of the seized gold is around Tk 5.0 million, he added.

Zakir arrived at the HSIA by a flight of Malaysian Airlines, 'MH-102'. He travelled to Malaysia seven times this year, the official said.
