One held with 3.146 kg gold at Dhaka airport

Customs officials arrested a man along with 27 gold bars weighing 3.146 kg at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Wednesday morning, report agencies.

The arrested was identified as Tarek Hossain, 24, a resident of Hathazari upazila of Chittagong district.

Assistant director Umme Nahida of customs intelligence of the airport said an Emirates Airlines flight, 'EK 582', from Dubai landed at the airport around 9:15am.

When Tarek came to the green channel of the airport, customs intelligence officials, following secret information, challenged him.
