One held with gold-bars at HSIA

A Dubai-bound passenger was arrested along with six gold-bars and raw chains weighing 817 grams of gold worth about Tk 4.0 million at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the city, reports BSS.

"We arrested one Md Nasir Uddin (37) of Chittagong from outside of canopy area of the airport around 10:15 am and seized six gold bars and raw chains in a balloon," said an official of airport armed police battalion.

Each of the bars weighing 100 grams and the raw chains of 217 grams and the estimated cost of the seized gold is Tk 4.0 million, he also said.
