One killed in Ctg \\\'gunfight\\\'

An alleged drug peddler was killed in a gunfight between his cohorts and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Dhaka-Chittagong Bypass road under Faujdarhat area of Sitakundu Upazila on Monday, reports BSS.

The deceased was identified as Zahidul Islam Alo (35).

Lt Col Mifta Uddin, commanding officer of Rab-7, said a patrol team of RAB challenged a vehicle in the area around 2:45 am.

Sensing presence of the elite force, the people inside the vehicle opened fire at them, prompting RAB to retaliate that triggered a gunfight, leaving Zahidul bullet-hit.
