Dengue fever claimed one more life in the country in the past 24-hour until Saturday morning, taking the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to six.
Besides, 67 more dengue patients were hospitalised during the period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of them, 63 were hospitalised at forty-seven public and private hospitals in Dhaka city while two each at hospitals in Chattogram and Mymensingh division.
Currently, 319 patients are getting treatment at hospitals--including 261 in Dhaka city and 58 in other places.
So far 2,081 dengue patients were hospitalised in the country. Of them, 1,756 patients-1,514 in Dhaka city and 242 elsewhere in the country--were released after treatment.
The official figures revealed that the dengue situation is worsening in the current month with the death of six people from the viral disease so far. Highest 992 dengue cases were reported in July while 737 in June and 163 cases in May.
