One to die for killing Brac bank official

A Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 sentenced a young man to death and three others to different jail terms for killing a Brac Bank official in 2011, reports UNB.

The condemned convict Abdul Majid Dalim, 34, son of Kiamuddin of Purba Balikha village in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka, was fined Tk 20,000, while another convict Jahangir Alam, 26, son of Abdus Salam of Nayadangi village in Singair upazila of Manikganj, was sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Tk 10,000.

The other convicts Mohammad Idul, 26, son of Amjad Hossain of Goubda village in Rajarhat upazila of Kurigram, and Faruk Hossain, 27, son of Jamal Miah of Jolapara village in Sayedpur upazila of Nilphamari, were sentenced to five years imprisonment each and also fined Tk 5000.

Among the convicts, Faruk Hossain remains at large.
