Online train ticket sale for Eid begins today

The sale of all advance train tickets for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr will begin today (Sunday) through online, reports BSS.

Passengers will be able to purchase the tickets for April 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and April 9 on March 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and March 30 respectively, said a press release of the ministry of railways.

Everyday a total of 33,500 tickets of intercity trains will be sold. Besides, one-fourth standing tickets against the total seat of the non-ac compartment will also be sold.

On the other hand, the selling of return tickets will begin on April 3.

For a hassle-free service for the passengers in the holy month of Ramadan, cent percent railway tickets will be available through online at Bangladesh Railway website https://eticket.railway.gov.bd or mobile app.

Eight pairs of special trains will be run this year, it said.
