Opening of closed garment factory demanded

National Garments Workers' Federation (NGWF) has demanded opening of the closed Basic Apparels factory and payment of arrears to workers.
Workers of the factory observed a token hunger strike at Muktangon Saturday in support of their demands.
The factory authorities closed the unit on March 2 when workers demanded a hike in their wages. Over 1800 workers are employed in the factory.
Among others, Shahida Sarkar, Amirul Hoque Amin, central leaders of NGWF, Salina Aktar, Muhammad Ali among others, spoke during the hunger strike programme.
