Orphan hostel inaugurated at Matlab Fazil Madrasa

An 80-seat hostel for orphans and under privileged children has been inaugurated Friday at Sare Panchani Hosania Fazil Madrasa, Matlab North, in Chandpur.   

Minister for Relief and Disaster Management Moffazal Hossain Chowdhury Maya Bir Bikram inaugurated the hostel named Alhajj Md Shamsul Huq Sarker.

Social worker and businessmen Engineer Md Mominul Huq dedicated the hostel to his elder brother late Md Shamsul Huq.

Poor and orphan students of the madrasa will be able to continue their education staying in the hostel.

Inaugurating the programme, Mr Maya lauded the voluntary effort to strengthen educational-base of the country.

"We would urge well-to-do people to come forward with their respective social responsibility to build an educated nation," he said.

"It is praiseworthy as there is no political will on this donation for the poor and orphan students," he added.

Md Mominul Huq, who is also chairman of the governing body of the Madrasa, said the main objective for building the hostel is to help the poor and orphan children with a better living place so that they can continue their education without hindrances. He sought cooperation of the government to develop the institution as one of the successful place for building an educated nation.

Mr Huq also expressed his desire over facilitating teachers of the institution by providing residences in the madrasa premises.

"Many of the students of the institution have secured A+ in the ebtadaye, Dakhil, Alim and Fajil examination and I hope it will continue further," he added.

Mr Solaiman Parsee, son of late Md Shamsul Huq, said such dedication for the betterment of poor and orphan students demands appreciation.

Under-privileged children of the village will be benefited with the modern residential services in the hostel, he added.
