SAVAR, Apr 23 (UNB): At least 30 people were injured when an Otobi furniture factory in Akran area of the upazila caught fire Tuesday night.
Witnesses said the fire originated from an unknown source at the factory at around 10.00 pm and it soon engulfed the whole factory, injuring 30 people.
At least 400 employees were reportedly working in the factory when
the fire broke out.
On information, 11 fire-fighting units from Savar, Savar EPZ and Uttara fire stations rushed in and were trying to control the flames untill filing of the report at around 1.00am and later they brought the fire under control.
Three of the injured were taken to Enam Medical College Hospital.
