Outgoing Sri Lankan envoy calls on President

The outgoing Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Bangladesh WA Sarath Kumara Weragoda paid his farewell call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban Thursday , reports BSS.
During the meeting, the President expressed his satisfaction with the existing Bangladesh-Sri Lanka bilateral relationship.
The President appreciated the proactive role of the Sri Lankan high commissioner in strengthening bilateral relations between the two South Asian nations.
President Abdul Hamid conveyed his greetings to his Sri Lankan counterpart President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The president expressed his hope that bilateral relations between the two countries would further be strengthened in the days to come.
The President also recalled his visits to Sri Lanka when he was the Speaker of the parliament.
The Sri Lankan envoy expressed his gratitude to the President for giving him continuous support during his tenure here.
He said Bangladesh and Sri Lanka shared common culture and values as well as common approaches to most of the contemporary regional and global issues.
The Sri Lankan envoy apprised the President of judicial system of Sri Lanka.
