Over 2000 sued for Laxmipur ASI killing

LAXMIPUR, Oct 11 (UNB): Three separate cases were filed on Friday night against over 2000 people in connection with violence and killing of an ASI of police in Raipur upazila.

Raipur thana officer-in-charge Md Manjurul Haq Akand said SI Jahirul Haq filed a case against some unnamed people for killing ASI Abdul Jalil near the police station early Friday.

Besides, the SI filed another case against 42 identified and 1500

unnamed people for creating violence in the upazila headquarters on Thursday night, he said.

Meanwhile, Raipur Palli Bidyut office AGM Mafiz Ahmed Kabir filed another case against 600 unnamed villagers for vandalising local Palli Bidyut office during the violence, he added.
