Pedestrian crushed under wheels of jeep

NOAKHALI, June 30 (UNB): A pedestrian, who was seriously injured in a road mishap in Hatiya Upazila Friday, died at the Upazila Health Complex.
Police said a Nalchira-bound jeep ran over Nijam (48), of Osakhali village in the upazila and also staff of local Firoza Diagnostic Centre, at about 3:00 am injuring him critically.
Later, police sent the body to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Another report from Jhalakati adds: Four people were critically injured when a big tree fell on a speeding three-wheeler tempo in Pratab area of Nalchhiti Upazila on Jhalakati-Barisal Highway Friday morning.
