Photojournalist Peu no more

Veteran photojournalist Azizur Rahman Peu died of cardiac arrest at his Dhanmondi residence in the city early Tuesday.

He was 49, report agencies.

Family sources said Peu breathed his last at 3:00 am.

He left behind his wife, one daughter, one son and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

Meanwhile, President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina expressed their profound shock at the death of Azizur Rahim Peu Tuesday.

Hailing from Rangpur, Azizur Rahman Peu was founding director of DrikNEWS, a Bangladesh-based news photo agency.

He started his career in photojournalism with the Bangla daily Ittefaq in 1988.

His first namaj-e-janaza was held at Pachshim Dhanmondi Mosque at around 11: 00 am and the second janaza was held on the Jatiya Press Club premises after Zohr prayers.
