PKSF launches Human Development Report 2006 today

A report titled 'Human Development in South Asia-2006, Poverty in South Asia: Challenges and Responses' will be launched today (Monday) at the auditorium of the Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF).
The Mahbub Ul Haq Human Development Centre prepared the report that was published by the Oxford University Press.
Economist Wahiduddin Mahmud, chairman of the governing body of Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) will be present as key commentator of the report at the launching ceremony.
Former finance minister M Syeduzzaman, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Country Director Manoj Basnyat, executive chairman of Power and Participation Research Centre (PPRC) Hossain Zillur Rahman, former member of Planning Commission Quazi Mesbahuddin Ahmed and Nasreen Khondker, director (research) of Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP), will be present as discussants in the ceremony, said a press release of PKSF.
