CHITTAGONG, Oct 29: As part of the flourishing tourism industry in the port city, the Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) has planned to establish Big Deba, a lake at the city's Agrabad commercial area, as one of the modern recreation centres, sources said.
According to CDA sources, a spacious footpath would be constructed surrounding the 14 acres of lake for smooth movement of the visitors.
Besides, the proposed 60 acres of land under the plan would be equipped in such a manner, so that the visitors can spend their leisure time there along with their family members.
A 20-storey building would be built on Sheikh Mujib Road adjoining site on the north-western side of the lake. Another multi-storied building would be built and both the buildings would be treated as observation towers, sources added.
Shops, shopping-malls, auditorium, restaurants, and gymnasiums with indoor sports facilities would be also built.
Sources further said the project would be sent to the concerned ministry, if approved, the CDA would start the construction work.
