Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the much-awaited Sheikh Lutfar Rahman Bridge, locally known as 'Patgathi Bridge', over Madhumati river in Tungipara upazila in Gopalganj district today (Saturday), reports UNB.
Sheikh Hasina is expected to formally inaugurate the bridge from her official residence Ganobhaban through videoconferencing in the afternoon.
With the inauguration of Sheikh Lutfur Rahman Bridge, the long- cherished demand of the Tungipara people would be fulfilled.
The bridge was constructed by the Road Transport and Highways Division at a cost of TK 400 million.
From Ganobhaban, Sheikh Hasina will lay the foundation stone of 'Kalna Bridge' over the Madhumati river in between Kashiani upazila under Gopalganj and Lohagara upazila under Narail district.
She will also inaugurate the newly-built 'Tungipara BRTC Training Institute' in Gopalganj.
