The 62nd birthday of journalist and poet Ahsan Hamid will be observed Thursday (on August 14), according to a press release.
Elaborate programme has been chalked out to mark the day. Poet's friends and well-wishers have been invited to attend the programme at the poet's residence at House No 107, Journalists' R/A, Mirpur in the city.
Poet Hamid was born in Bhedorganj under Madaripur subdivision now in Shariatpur district in 1952.
He obtained MA Degree in Bengali from Jagannath University and worked as journalist in different newspapers. Mr Ahsan, father of Dr Laboni Ahsan Mou and pharmacist Rishad Ahsan, has been working as a shift-in-charge in the Naya Diganta, the release added.
