Police arrest 11 more individuals

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Monday arrested 11 more individuals in connection with the attack, vandalism, and arson at the offices of Prothom Alo and The Daily Star in the capital's Karwan Bazar area, taking the total number of arrests to 28.

According to a DMP statement issued on Tuesday, nine of the suspects were arrested on Monday during raids conducted by the detective branch (DB) in different parts of the city, while two others were arrested by Tejgaon Police Station.

The arrested individuals are: Abdur Rahman (30), Md Jannatul Naim (21), Md Faisal (24), Qari Muaz bin Abdul Rahman (33), Zubayer Hossain (21), Md Almas Ali (29), Zulfikar Ali Sourav (22), Niaz Mahmud (28), Mohammad Mainul Islam (22), Md Hasem (26), and Arafat Yasin (29).

Following the attacks, police collected CCTV footage from the area and launched a series of operations to identify and arrest those involved. Legal proceedings against the arrested suspects are currently underway, according to the DMP.
