Police file case over recovery of three bullet-hit bodies

NARAYANGANJ, Sept 15 (UNB): A murder case has been filed in connection with Friday's recovery of bullet-hit bodies of three friends from 300 Feet area of Purbachal.

Sub-inspector Shafi Uddin of Rupganj Police Station filed the case against unidentified people on Saturday morning, said officer-in-charge Maniruzzaman.

Three friends Shimul Azad, 32, son of Abdul Mannan, Nur Hossain, son of Abdul Wahad and Sohag, 35, son of late Shahidullah, hailing from Jhenidah and Munshiganj districts, used to live in Mughda and Mohakhali, went missing at around 01:00 am on Wednesday when they were returning from the house of Shimul in Kaliganj Upazila of Jhenidah district.

When family members contacted Saidabad bus terminal, supervisor of the bus said plainclothes police picked the trio up from the bus.

Hearing the news of body recovery on Friday morning, the victims' family members went to the police station and identified the bodies.

Shimul is Nur's brother-in-law. Shimul, Nur and Shohag were very close friends and they ran a jhut and satellite cable business, said Shimul's mother Chaina Begum.
