CHITTAGONG, Dec 27 (bdnews24.com): The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), has arrested another man involved in the rape of four women during a robbery in Chittagong's Karnaphuli area.
Abu Sama, 45, was arrested in the port city on Tuesday night, said the case investigating officer and PBI Inspector Santosh Kumar Chakma.
Sama, a resident of Patia Upazila's Kolagaon, planned the robbery, the investigation officer said.
"Abu Sama was involved in mobile phone thefts," he told the news agency. "The robbery was executed according to his plans."
Meanwhile, detainee Mizan Matubbar, who was brought to court for his deposition after his arrest on Monday night, did not name the three held by the local Karnaphuli police, PBI officials said.
"During his deposition Mizan Matubbar said Sama was responsible for planning the robbery. But he says Sama did not enter the house and was waiting outside."
Mizan and Abu Sama were introduced by another person involved in the robbery, PBI said. Four, including Mizan, entered the house, he said.
Late on December 12, robbers raped four women after breaking into a home in Karnaphuli's Barauthan.
