Police nab youth for 'sexually harassing' SUST student

SHAHJALAL UNIVERSITY, Mar 17 (UNB): A young man was held on charge of harassing a female student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) sexually on Saturday night.

The victim, a third year student of the university, alleged that Kadir, co-passenger of the CNG-run auto rickshaw, touched her while she was returning to the campus from Madina Market around 9:00 pm. Kabir also locked into an altercation with her when she protested the incident.

When the auto-rickshaw reached the main gate of the university, the victim sought help from her fellow students.

Later, they caught the youth and handed him over to police.

Shariful Islam, officer-in-charge of Jalalabad Police Station, said legal action will be taken against Kabir once a written complaint is lodged.
