Police recover two bodies from Sylhet hotel

SYLHET, Jan 22 (UNB): Police recovered bodies of a young man and a woman from a hotel at Sobahanighat in the city on Sunday night.

The deceased were identified as Rakhi Paul, 27, a resident of Jaintiapur upazila of the district, and Mintu Dev, 28, a resident of Jagannathpur upazila of Sunamganj district.

Gousul Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said on information a team of police recovered the bodies from a room of residential hotel 'Hotel Meherpur' in the city around 10:00pm.

The reasons behind their death could not be ascertained yet, the OC added.

Identifying themselves as husband and wife, the victims rented a room of the hotel around 12:05pm.
