English Medium School Students-Guardians Forum Tuesday urged the political parties not to enforce any agitation programme like hartal, blockade and long march during the upcoming O-level and A-level examinations beginning on May 6 under the Cambridge and Edexcel syllabuses, reports UNB.
"Examinees and guardians are worried about O-level and A-level examinations due to the ongoing programmes of the BNP-led 19-party alliance, Hefajat-e-Islam and Ganajagaran Manch," forum convener Quamrul Islam Sony and five others said in a joint statement.
They said it is difficult to defer the O-level and A-level examinations as those are held in different countries across the world at a time. "In case of any dawn-to-dusk hartal, the examinations used to be held at night in the past. However, the examinations will be cancelled if the hartal exceeds 24 hours," the statement said.
