Polls schedule won't be announced before last week of Oct: CEC

Chief Election Commiss-ioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal on Sunday said that the schedule for the 12th parliamentary election will not be announced before the last week of October.

The CEC was speaking to reporters at the Election Commission Secretariat on Sunday afternoon, reports UNB.

According to the constitution, if the next national election is to be held with the current parliament in place, it will be within the previous 90 days starting January 29, 2024. That is, the countdown to the 12th national election will start November 1 this year.
